Artplay is an expressive arts studio in Phoenix, Arizona. This policy explains what information we collect from families, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
The short version: we collect only what we need to schedule sessions and stay in touch with you. We don't sell your information, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't collect medical records.

Artplay is not a licensed medical or behavioral health provider. We are not a HIPAA covered entity and we do not maintain medical records.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Parent or guardian name, email address, and phone number
- Your child's first name and age
- Scheduling preferences and session history
- What your child enjoys making or doing, and what you'd like them to get out of Artplay — in your own words
- How you heard about us, and who referred you if applicable
- Payment information, which is processed and stored by our payment processor and never stored on our servers
Please do not send us medical records, diagnoses, or detailed health information through our website forms. If something is relevant for us to know, tell us by phone.
Information created during sessions
- Attendance records
- Brief session notes written by your child's helper, describing what they worked on
- Photographs of artwork your child creates, if you have given permission
Information collected automatically
Basic website analytics — pages visited, approximate location, device type. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To schedule sessions and match your child with a helper
- To send appointment reminders and session recaps
- To process payments and manage memberships
- To let your child's helper prepare for the next session
- To respond when you contact us
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations
Text messages
If you opt in, we send text messages about your sessions — confirmations, reminders, rescheduling, and session recaps. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies, typically two to four messages per scheduled session.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of text messages does not affect your ability to book sessions; we'll contact you by phone or email instead.
We keep marketing messages separate. You will only receive promotional messages if you separately opt in to them, and you can opt out of those without opting out of session reminders.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
Photographs
With your permission, we photograph artwork your child creates and share it with you after sessions. Our standard practice is to photograph artwork only, not children.
We will not use any photograph publicly — on our website, social media, or in any marketing — without separate, specific written permission from you. You can withdraw permission at any time by emailing or texting us.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us operate:
- Our payment processor, for billing
- Our scheduling and messaging providers, for appointments and reminders
- Our accountant, for bookkeeping and tax purposes
We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a child or another person. Arizona law requires certain individuals to report suspected child abuse or neglect.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep family and session records while your family is active with us and for a reasonable period afterward, generally seven years, for accounting and legal purposes. You may request earlier deletion and we will honor it where we are not required to retain the record.
Your choices
- Access — ask us what we have about your family
- Correct — tell us if something is wrong
- Delete — ask us to remove your information
- Opt out — of texts, emails, or photographs, at any time

Children
Our website is directed at parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect information online directly from children under 13. Information about your child is provided by you, as their parent or guardian.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls, and reputable service providers. Payment card information is handled by our payment processor and does not touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously — particularly because it concerns children.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify active families by email.
